Christmas Movie Round-up

I'm starting to get a little worried that I waited too long to start watching Christmas movies this year, and if I start now and try to fit them in, it will just have the "Simply having a happy Christmas (war is over) do they know it's Christmas kissing Santa Claus" effect.

Which of course is to say that Christmas movies will begin to bother me just as much Christmas music does. If you require explanation, please see here.

So to get in the swing of things, I'm just remembering one-liners instead.

"If this gets dented, my hair just ain't gonna look right."

"Buddy the elf; what's your favorite color?"

"To: Olive. From: Deus ex Machina."

"Somewhere, Schwartz was getting his."

"Vermont must be lovely this time of year. All that snow."

There. I think I'm good now.

Get in the spirit.

This is still my favorite little jingle.

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well. I finished my shopping today...I think!

We must be adults.

Since I got engaged, I’ve been secretly identifying annoying things about my single life that will go by the wayside once I’m married. I didn’t know that my fiancĂ© was doing the same thing until last night, when I heard him rifling through the storage container cabinet in his kitchen, trying to put away dinner leftovers, saying,

“I can’t wait for the next phase of my life. I call it the ‘matching tupperware’ phase.”

We have both plotted to leave all our odds and ends and red-headed stepchild tupperware for our future former roommates and start fresh with our own kitchen, and henceforth and forever have a strict family policy of buying only storage containers that match.

This is a fantasy of ours. We must be adults.

I'm sorry.

Dear Blog,

Maybe I didn't love you quite as often as I could have. Maybe I didn't love you as well as I should have.

But you are always on my mind (and by "always" I mean at least daily).

There are three things keeping me from you right now:

The Wedding Planning
The Holidays
The Sinus Infection

But I won't be gone forever. Oh no. Because in a mere week-ish, I'll be off for Christmas ("well, ain't this place a geographic oddity - two weeks from everywhere!" <--name that film) and I will have new posts for you. And maybe a bit of an announcement.

Till then, or whenever I feel like posting,

Holly

A coud in da dohz.

Sometimes when I'm getting over a head cold, I have to remind myself to start breathing through my nose again.

It's a bit of a bother.

But I do it, so I don't look like a creepy mouth-breather.

You're welcome!
