we've had a lot of "you go, girl" moments in the news of late. there was the hillary thing, before, as jay leno so aptly put it, she went to ikea for the afternoon realizing it was the only chance she'd ever have to build her own cabinet.
there was whitney, the first plus (normal) sized winner of "america's next top model," and we all know what a household name those top model winners become. not.
there was ashley dupre, who almost helped her music career by being the woman who helped eliot spitzer ruin his life.
and now we have brittany snow who, according to people magazine, "refuses" to diet and is "done" with her trainer. i don't know about you, but it kind of seems to me that someone who has struggled with anorexia and bulemia isn't going to go right out for fried chicken and twinkies before sitting on her duff all day trying not to burn calories. and now for a letter to brittany snow:
dear brittany,
i'm really sorry that you struggled with those illnesses. they can be very dangerous and pretty scary. but sugar pie, if you're trying to promote a healthy body image by saying all this...you better ask your publicist if she's heard of "me-too" marketing. and then you ought to fire your publicist because she clearly hasn't otherwise she'd find you your own news hook.
and then you should hire me because i have this cute blog and we could be bff!
xoxo

what i hate even more is when a new celeb mother drops a whole bunch of weight and they are asked what the secret is, and the answer is ALWAYS, "oh, just running after my child is exercise enough!! it keeps me in shape."
to which i say B.S.
brittany, you can do better.
the best is when they say they are doing yoga to stay in shape, I am in a yoga right now and as much as i love streching and listening to zen music, it is not exactly bootcamp.
ps. I love whitney, I am just saying that I might kill some distant relatives to look like her.
