Sometimes, I have dreams that I’m smoking. I have never even tried smoking anything at any point in my life.
Ever.
Yet in my dreams, there I am, taking long, deep drags in secret places and relishing every moment. In these dreams, I always smoke in secret and I only do it sometimes.
But I love it (while I’m asleep).
Today I walked into work and Beckie said, “I had a dream about you last night.” I demanded explanation in excruciating detail, natch.
She said that in her dream, she walked past me and I smelled like cigarettes and I had an old one in my pocket. And she also said that she confronted me about it and didn’t want to be my friend anymore once she knew I was a smoker.
This is like psychic friends dream interaction.
What does it mean?

Good thing Beckie doesn't spy on my dreams. All she'd see is me vacuuming or doing the dishes.
Still, this is crazy. Maybe I should pay attention to see if you start taking any smoke breaks. :)
I looked this up at a couple of places, and surprisingly, got a couple of different answers. The ones i foudn most interesting are:
Dreaming about smoking usually indicates the person who is smoking is attempting to shield themselves emotionally.
The smoker in dreams is someone who is exhibiting a destructive habit and/or additction
but... the third one looks more promising.
Smoking is a good omen and a sign of good things to come, as is the act of giving or recieving a cigareete. smoking is a sign of self satisfaction.
We'll all root for option 3.
I also hope it's Option 3. Wink wink.
Clearly you are just a smoker who is currently not-smoking. Your subconscious is letting you know that you can only deny it cigarettes for so long before it takes over and starts buying cigarettes in the middle of the night and smoking them while you sleep. Better give in now before your subconscious gets you addicted to the marlboro cigs without the filters.
I used to have dreams about being Batman, but then I watched the Dark Knight. Now I just have dreams about severely beating and shooting people in public restrooms and on the road side.
