my bandwagon post that will probably yield about zero comments but i’m writing anyway.

if you're following any number of blogs these days, you’re seeing a lot of these three:

scarce posting
posts apologizing for such scarcity
blogs closing up shop, right before your eyes

i didn’t start blogging to follow the crowd; i did it because i like writing and i wanted to blog. i didn’t fall into this almost-never-posting pattern so i could follow the crowd; it just kind of happened. i like to maybe blame it on the summer, although last summer i was on fire with posts, so you can see my problem with finding something to blame the recent lameness of my blog on.

look, the thing is, the internet is kind of boring me.

(i'll just let that ruminate.)

it’s all just a utility anymore. gone are the days of facebooking for hours. gone are the days of finding creative ways to rick-roll my friends and coworkers. gone are the days of online shopping, even just online window shopping (the economy? who knows).

it’s not that the internet and i are breaking up. we aren’t.

i just need to really decide what the goal of this little blog is, exactly. i’ve used up a lot of space in the ether saying catty things about celebrities. and as you know, the celebs are boring me too now.

when i set out to create this blog, i wanted to use it as a platform to say what i was really thinking…for catharsis, for validating my own crazy and maybe helping a few people validate theirs, too. for bridging the gap between what my life is like and the goals i have about what it will be like 1, 5, 50 years down the road. but never with TMI and always with a little bite. because when people are very nice, it makes me very suspicious, and i can’t be one of those people.

(suspicious of myself? now we’re really making progress.)

so, you have my word. from now on, i’m getting back to my bloggy roots. i’ll be posting only my real observations, my real feelings, my real reality and my real hopes for the future. if you know me for real in real life, i hope with a real hope that this doesn’t make you real uncomfortable.

because actually, one goal i have is to be less guarded and let people in more readily.

and off we go.

oh, and p.s. - if you clicked on that link up there, i guess rick-rolling still is a LITTLE funny. it wasn't even hidden or anything. you just clicked...and i mean...it was sooo easy.

i think i know why you have been blogging less: you have a boyfriend. i mean, i noticed the subtle references to him and also the decline in blogs posts around the same time, so...

it's kind of like when your roommate gets a bf, you hardly ever see her. but it's okay because you understand and secretly/not-so-secretly want a bf of your own.

Set your blog up to make money for you, and I can guarantee you that you'll blog more. : ) Just think of that extra cash you could do some online shopping with! And take that bit of advice with a grain of salt... my blog isn't exactly of any monetary value. I just know that some people make a career of it and make a ton of money.

I heart Holly Lynn and what she blogs.

I'm never gonna give you (or your blog) up, hollylynn! I love Rick. This post brought me back to summer vacation of 1989, rockin out to Rick on my generic walkman in the back seat of the family Buick. Good times. Rick aside, I think we all go through internet/blogging droughts and it's OK because it's just kinda the circle of life.

I know exactly who to blame for your sudden loss of interest in just about everything. It's de la Rocha (conservative). If I were in a stable relationship, my blog posts would quickly become stale. Of course, my blog is about dating and yours is about... something. Sex and the City maybe. Maybe once gossip girls starts up again (has it already happened? I have no idea) you will rekindle your blogger personality.

SO glad I didn't click on that link.

And how I'm getting a hankering (hankerin'?) to try rick rolling a certain coworker again.

I'll try to resist.

Oh, and P.S., you got me started on this blog thing, so I'm glad this wasn't a good bye post. I hate those.
