Since I got engaged, I’ve been secretly identifying annoying things about my single life that will go by the wayside once I’m married. I didn’t know that my fiancé was doing the same thing until last night, when I heard him rifling through the storage container cabinet in his kitchen, trying to put away dinner leftovers, saying,
“I can’t wait for the next phase of my life. I call it the ‘matching tupperware’ phase.”
We have both plotted to leave all our odds and ends and red-headed stepchild tupperware for our future former roommates and start fresh with our own kitchen, and henceforth and forever have a strict family policy of buying only storage containers that match.
This is a fantasy of ours. We must be adults.

that's hilarious! teehee
I have to admit, I do love the "matching Tupperware" phase. For that stage, I have two suggestions:
1. Leave ample room for the tupperware (it keeps it organized so it doesn't become mis-matching)
2. Look into these: they are kind of wonderful! (you can buy them at Target) http://www.rubbermaid.com/Category/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?SpaceId=Kitchen(RubbermaidSpaces)&Prod_ID=RP091258
Getting organized... such an exciting thought! It always makes life so much more pleasant to be organized, even when you are talking about the storage containers!
We skipped that phase entirely. Mainly because our tupperware is kind of lame, and I have stolen a few choice peices from my mother that I refuse to return...
I can't wait for that stage in my life.... until then.... I wait with tupperware that does not match.
weird. I'm single and my tupperware matches...
Tupperware, eh? What a novel idea...I've just been dumping my leftovers straight into those big clear plastic drawer things in the fridge.
Another sign of adulthood ...
Getting more excited about buying a snow shovel or a toaster or a set of sheets than I ever would have been over getting a remote control car or a new bike or a set of Legos.
I felt really lame when I realized this had happened.
But what else is new?
Ha ha ha! I love it! I had these same exact thoughts. I LOVE my matching tuberware and in the last of my single days I couldn't wait to have the matching tuberware.
