i just realized that "juno" will be out on dvd next tuesday and can i just say: i couldn't be happier. i love that movie for so many reasons. let's list a few. ok.
1. michael cera is a comic genius. and while george michael bluth will always be your best role, i couldn't be happier that you have been able to go from a geeky kid in those zack morris shirts dating ann (her?) to a geeky kid who had enough game to get a girl pregnant. and a smart one like ellen page, to boot.
2. rainn wilson's funny cameo at the beginning: "that ain't no etch-a-sketch. this is one doodle that can't be un-did, homeskillet." i don't care who you are. a nerdy white man calling ellen page "homeskillet" is just delightful.
3. the movie references other movies. for pop culture junkies, this is truly the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. "bleeker's mom looked like a woman who could have been attractive at one time. but, now she just looks like a hobbit. you know, that fat one who was in 'goonies?'"
lbh, i could go on here. but i think you get the point. just buy it people. buy the movie.
