i decided to make a playlist of christmas songs that don't annoy me. i will listen to it from time to time over the next several days and let you know how this affects my positive mental attitude.
as you'll recall, i am generally annoyed by christmas music as a whole.
i will however, take songs on a case by case basis. i've gotten some recommendations and i'm going to see what happens.
also, i have not sent out my cards yet.
have you?

i think you only need to send cards if you're married with kids. and even then it's iffy...

Guess what? I am listening to your Christmas music on your blog. I was driving to work this morning and the thought hit me that I WANTED to listen to Christmas music, which I must admit, has never happened to me before. Part of the problem with Christmas music is that most of it follows the same trends as non-Christmas crappy music. It is outdated, sickly sweet idealistic, and boring.
Anyway, I am trying to get into the Christmas spirit. I am on the second song right now. I even put up my Christmas tree last night. It looked pretty sad with the two strands of working Christmas lights that I found and no ornaments.
Anyway, I hope you are able to get into the Christmas spirit too. I recommend a pine scented wallflower. My house just smells like Christmas... and sausage because my friend Mike moved in and he really likes sausage.
I really like JEW's "Last Christmas." I was surprised, but I also really like Ashley Tisdale's version... I know. Gross, right? I was shocked, it's actually pretty good.
lol My SIL led me to your blog. I think you're hilarious and awesome. But you know that already, so moving on. lol
Well I was going to suggest The Weepies "All That I want" and then I looked over on your side bar, and BAM. There it is. Much talent. I'm impressed.
I would venture to guess you're not much of a country music fan, but Faith Hill has a new Christmas song out called "A Baby Changes Everything" .. complete with a background choir.
Now I need to go check out the Killers Christmas song that I was unaware of. Shame on me.
I have basically given up on sending out cards...
Looks like you have eclectic taste in music. How 'bout trying James Taylor? I don't generally care for Christmas music either, but I love, love, love his Christmas CD. I also like some Chris Isak (sp?), and some old crooners. You have a great sense of humor!
finally! cards are going out today. whew!
I wrote my letter today... and maybe cards will finally go our on Monday. I might have to say "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" since they probably won't get there before the 25th...
Forget about cards...
I've been meaning to tell you btw... I really like they way your blog looks. Very aesthetically pleasing!
Hope you're having fun at home!
