in my humble opinion, bridal fairs are only useful for people in the "i plan to get engaged this year" phase of life.
might be that i'm just a little eager (probably), or too decisive (probably not), but by the time the bridal fairs rolled around in january, my being there was a tad useless.
"hi there! looking for a photographer?" no.
"heya, have you found a venue yet?" yes.
"looking for that perfect gown?" found it before i had the ring on my hand.
"looking for a cake?" nope.
in fact, the only vendor i hadn't locked in by the time i went to the bridal show was my florist, but i had already chosen her, even though she didn't know it yet.
so i went looking for basically ideas on details.
what i got was about a thousand emails from overeager wedding planners, photographers, dj's, you name it, all vying for my attention. well, all including me on their mail merge pitches is more like it. haven't opened a single one of their messages.
not too useful for either party.
but i'm not complaining! hey, feeling ahead of the game was encouraging!
and in case you were wondering, my florist is blossom sweet, and i can hardly wait to see my flowers! melissa does such beautiful things.

Melissa IS awesome. Ya... I don't know if I care to ever go to a bridal fair.
I never went to a Bridal Fair, and I can't see myself ever going. My dictum, "I love marriages, but I hate weddings." I realize that as a female I am in the minority, but hey, to each his own. I had a roommate who LOVED bridal fairs and went for the fun of it (?). She still isn't married.
Everyone seems to be getting married... ahahah. ha ha. lol
I went to a bridal fair - did not enjoy. I pretty much feel exactly the same way you did. Since I wasn't getting married in Phoenix, it made it even more pointless to go.
P.S. only useful thing is free cake samples. Just because they are yummy.
I just clicked over to your florist and I love what she does! Can't wait to see your flowers, hope that there are a lot of carnation...fingers crossed
That's interesting! I used to work for David's Bridal, so I've worked many bridal shows. I know bridal vendors annoying. I used to be one. I'm glad plans are moving along for you.
ohhh provo bridal fairs...haha, of course you were going for just details because you had everything under control!
yes, i'm so happy right now! just read your post and saw your shout out for blossom sweet. love it. thanks, thanks. hope your groomals went well yesterday. :)
